Maternal Mortality is the burning issue in the district of Sultanpur, in Uttar Pradesh in India where the number of maternal deaths per 100,000 live births is 500.

Imagine a young poverty stricken mother, eagerly awaiting the birth of her child, but cannot afford three meals a day, let alone proper and regular health care visits for the baby. She sacrifices her life during child birth.

What can we as members of the society contribute to prevent this? It takes little effort and time from our side that can make a huge difference in the life of a mother.
