Configuring Outlook Express For MacOS

 

How to configure Outlook Express for checking mail with Hurricane Electric service

I. Greetings! Lets start with launching Outlook Express and letting it load.
The first step will be to go to the Tools menu and selecting Accounts, as shown in Figure 1 below:


II. After selecting Accounts, you will be presented with the Accounts window.
Select New, and then Mail... as shown in Figure 2 below:


III.In this New Account window, select Assist Me to launch the Account Setup Assistant.


IV. Now we are in the Account Setup Assistant.
Put in the name you want to send email out as.
Figure 4 below, should be the window you are at:

Click the right arrow to continue.


V. We will proceed to specifying the email address you will be sending and getting mail as.
Figure 5 shows what to select and proper context to enter:



Click the right arrow to continue.


VI. Here we enter server names.
The connection type is POP3, and the Incoming and Outgoing Mail Servers are the same, and the name of the server associated with your account.
Figure 6 shows what your entries should look like:

Click the right arrow to continue.


VII. Lets continue to setting the username and password.
If you are checking for your default mailbox, just put in the username you were issued with your account.
If you are checking for a Virtual POP Mailbox that you created, use the format shown below in figure 7:

Click the right arrow to continue.


VIII. After putting in the correct username and password, click Next to continue and finish your account creation.
On this last page, you simply click Finish to complete the Assistant.
Now you can check your email!
